Audio Podcast Series - Healthcare 411 - IT in Pediatric Emergency Departments
AUDIO PODCAST:  Clinician Insider
Thursday, July 19, 2007 12:00 PM
IT in Pediatric Emergency Departments

Program Description:

This audio program features current news and information from the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

The hustling, bustling environment of a pediatric emergency department – where split-second decisions can mean life or death – might be the last place you’d expect to find parents using information technology to help clinicians treat their child. But that’s what happened at Boston Children’s and South Shore hospitals. Dr. Stephen Porter, an emergency medical physician at Children’s Hospital in Boston and the principal investigator on a grant funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, joins us to discuss how a little bit of technology could go a long way to providing better care.
